Features TECH AIR 7 SYSTEM for motorbike:

Developed for sport/recreational motorcycling, the Tech-Air® 7x offers riders full upper body protection by covering the shoulders, chest and entire back. The integrated back protector is extended in length for additional coccyx protection. Tech-Air® 7x can be used as a stand-alone system or as an integrated system within a compatible suit or jacket. The system is designed to work for closed-course racing, as well as on-road and light off-road driving.

The innovative Tech-Air® 7x Airbag wearable system is equipped with an active electronic system that has twelve integrated sensors: 3 triaxial accelerometers (1 positioned on the back protector and 2 positioned on the shoulders) and 1 triaxial gyroscope (located inside the back protector ). These sensors monitor the rider's body for any impacts or unexpected movements. Developed through years of research in collaboration with over 50% of the world's leading MotoGP riders and Alpinestars customers who ride with Tech-Air® systems, our team has analyzed riding data from millions of kilometers and thousands of crashes to improve continuously system intelligent accident detection algorithms. Once an accident situation has been identified, which occurs when the pilot's body is subjected to a high and/or sudden amount of energy, the algorithm will trigger the activation of the protective airbag, providing unparalleled protection to the pilot or passenger wearing the System (with a maximum inflation time of 44ms, depending on the Airbag volume). Impact absorption while wearing the Airbag when inflated, results in a decrease in impact force by up to 90% compared to a CE Level 1 passive protector.

TECH-AIR® 7X RIDING MODE: RACE AND ROAD

The Tech-Air® 7x system is preloaded with two different riding modes: RACE mode for closed-course racing and STREET mode for on-road and light off-road riding. Users can easily switch between Race and Street riding modes simply by using the Tech-Air® app. The System must always be used in Road mode when driving on public roads and NOT on a closed circuit track. Drivers must always remember to switch from Race mode to Street mode once they arrive at the circuit and leave the track, to ensure they have complete protection, even when stopped at traffic lights, at intersections or for any reason. Airbag protection in the event of a stop is provided only by the Street Mode algorithm.

The Tech-Air® 7x is compatible with all FIM Grand Prix requirements for airbag systems, making it suitable for road racing competition.

The Tech-Air® 7x features the latest evolution of Alpinestars Tech-Air® technology, including a more compact and complete active electronic system equipped with 12 sensors.

There are 4 triaxial sensors: 1 triaxial accelerometer and 1 triaxial gyroscope positioned on the main electronic control unit, and 2 additional triaxial accelerometers positioned on the shoulders, developed specifically for track and high-performance riding, and these combine with the Tech-Air algorithm ® to precisely monitor when to activate the airbag in the event of an accident. When an accident situation is detected, a protective Airbag is activated, providing the rider with unrivaled protection with a maximum inflation time of 44 ms depending on the size of the Airbag.

The Airbag has been fully certified for up to 4 Airbag activations before needing to be replaced, provided the Airbag was not damaged in one of the first 3 activations.

This airbag system is certified as category II PPE (personal protective equipment) pursuant to European Regulation (EU) 2016/425.
